Practice Policy
Appointments and Cancellations
Appointments are scheduled in advance at a frequency we agree on together, based on your goals, treatment needs, and our mutual availability. Payment for each appointment is processed through Headway using a debit card, credit card, or ACH transfer.
If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you give us enough notice to avoid a charge. Late cancellations and missed appointments may result in a fee. Please reach out to us directly for our most up-to-date cancellation policy, including the notice required and any applicable fees.
Availability and After-Hours Emergencies
We check voicemail messages during normal business hours, and messages left after hours will be returned on the next business day.
If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, are in crisis, or need immediate support, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Contacting Us
We are not always able to answer the phone right away, especially when we are in session or otherwise unavailable. You are welcome to leave a confidential voicemail, and we will return your call after we have had a chance to review your chart. For non-urgent matters, it may take 1–2 business days to respond.
We will do our best to let you know in advance about any planned absences and provide you with the name and phone number of the mental health professional covering our practice. If we need to cancel an appointment unexpectedly, we will reach out as soon as possible to reschedule or have a member of our team help coordinate next steps.
Ending Services
There may come a time when therapy with us comes to an end. You may decide that you would like to work with a different provider, or we may believe that another clinician or level of care would better meet your needs. If that happens, we will talk with you openly about the reasons and, if you would like, provide referrals to other qualified providers.
When appropriate, we will work to make this transition as smooth and supportive as possible. Depending on your needs, that may include extending the discharge process or providing time-limited emergency support after notice has been given that treatment is ending.
Please also know that repeated nonpayment, ongoing missed appointments, or difficulty maintaining respectful and timely communication may result in discharge from our practice. Even in those situations, we will make every reasonable effort to contact you and provide referrals so you can continue receiving care.
